Concept

In this project, I was given the task of directing a photoshoot from our props to lighting. I chose to replicate three of Wayne Thiebaud’s paintings. I researched various paintings that he has done over the many years of his career. Once I was able to finalize my choices of three paintings of Wayne Thiebaud's, I chose to package this idea into a wine bottle. I have noticed that wine bottles lately have been packaged with an abstract to patterned art. As a result, I came up with the idea of combining realistic images to pair up with the wine bottles.

Execution

The three final paintings that I chose were a series of food paintings that were simple but still difficult to achieve in terms of replicating the shadows from the painting. I replicated the shadows and concept of the paintings with the use of donuts, hot dogs, and cupcakes. I have also purchased three wine bottles that would help me execute the replication perfectly.

Being able to achieve a similar concept of shadows and lighting was hard, but I was able to get through the process of photography with patience!
